TRANSFERRING 4:3 VIDEO FORMATS TO FULL SIZE 1:1,33 FILM FRAME ASPECT RATIO.
The 4:3 video format can be transferred to a full size film frame as a 1:1,33 aspect ratio. The film can be lossless reproduced at a 1:1,33 aspect ratio or at a 1:1,85 screening aspect ratio. In this case there is a loss of the images' top and bottom edges.

TRANSFERRING 4:3 VIDEO FORMATS TO 1:1,85 FILM FRAME ASPECT RATIO.
In many theatres film projectors reproduce at the 1:1,85 screening format. Therefore the 4:3 video format should be transferred at the center of a film frame in an 1:1:85 aspect ratio. The images will be reproduced with black stripes on their left and right edges.

Transferring the 16:9 video formats into the center of a 1:1,77 film frame aspect ratio and then reproducing the film at a 1:1,85 screening aspect ratio. There will be a slight loss of the images' top and bottom edges. This method provides a full size 1:1,85 Screening aspect ratio and the best possible film grain.
